2024 Pi Day Challenge

Dear CAA Taiwan Leaders,

We are pleased to share that Philippe Wu ‘25 has been selected as the Taiwan Engineering Scholar this academic year. Philippe is an outstanding student in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, and we hope you will enjoy reading more about his leadership and involvement in the attached profile. We would also like to introduce him to you when the timing is appropriate and if you have an interest.

In the coming weeks, we will share this news with supporters of the Taiwan Columbia Alumni Association Engineering Scholarship as part of an update on our annual Pi Day Challenge. Pi Day, which runs from February 14 to March 14, is an exciting opportunity to build momentum for efforts like the Scholarship.

You are encouraged to circulate this information through your CAA Taiwan website (NationBuilder) with alumni and friends whom our communications may not reach. Peer-to-peer contact is key to gaining backers for student financial support initiatives.

Columbia Engineering stands proudly on its commitment to providing aid to exceptional students who would otherwise not be able to attend Columbia. We are immensely grateful for your generous partnership and investment in the growth of our community. After Pi Day concludes, we will provide updated giving numbers and details on our annual scholarship event, planned for April 11, 2024.

Please reach out to Julian or Jaclyn with any further questions. For more information on the Pi Day Challenge, you can contact Cody Vermillion, Director of Annual Giving, at [email protected].

Thank you for all that you do for Columbia Engineering and our students.
