食在創業 Entrepreneurship in the Food Industry

    13737575_666286520185380_4929843493380129132_o.jpg

Alex Hsu is an emerging chef/owner of Rue 216 French Bistro in Taipei. He will take us into his adventure of Food and Entrepreneurship crossing three continents - Europe, America and Asia. Chieh-Yen, a certified dietitian trying to bake and make the safest and the best for kids. Columbia Alumni Association of Taiwan cordially invites you to join us with our two outstanding alum, Alex Hsu and Chieh-Yen Chen, on the topic of “Entrepreneurship in the Food Industry”.

    Speakers

Alex Hsu 徐嘉陽 (BS in Mechanical Engineering ‘93 & MA in International Affairs SIPA ’94): Alex has 14 years of working experience in Wall Street, but he gave it up to attend to Le Cordon Bleu and founded Rue 216 in 2009.  By insisting on cooking with 100% natural ingredients, Rue 216 has become one of the most enduring and authentic restaurants serving Southern French cuisine in Taipei.

Chieh-Yen Chen 陳頡燕 (MS in Nutrition Education TC ’01): Yen is an American registered dietitian. As a full-time mom with two children, she realized the serious problem of food safety and started Cakelangelo in 2014 to bake for kids. This year, Cakelangelo sets its goal to start teaching the idea of “from farm to fork” to help kids love food again.
